H.O.T to reunite for 20th anniversary with concert this year

First generation K-Pop male K-pop idol group H.O.T reunion plans are finally a go as it was recently reported that preparations for a concert this year is underway.

According to multiple music industry insiders on January 15th to portal Donga, “H.O.T has decided to hold their 20th anniversary concert this year and preparations are underway.”

However, despite news of their concert reunion happening this year, no dates were confirmed or whether the highly popular 1st generation K-Pop group would be releasing a new album in accompaniment.

This 20th anniversary concert would make it the first concert to be held by H.O.T since February 27, 2001 where they performed at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.

H.O.T debuted in 1996 with their 1st studio album We Hate All Kinds of Violence and rose to fame with tracks such as “Warrior’s Descendant” and “Candy,” releasing many hit tracks in their careers including “Happy,” “We Are The Future,” “I Yah!” and more.

With the stream of comebacks from 90s legendary groups such as Shinhwa, g.o.d, and most recently, Turbo,  fans have voiced out their request of an H.O.T reunion as well. But with the members currently in separate agencies- with Kangta the only one remaining in their original agency, SM Entertainment – and busy with their own activities, discussions took longer than expected with reports dating back to at least 2014.

H.O.T is made up of members Moon Hee Jun, Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony Ahn, Lee Jae Won, and Kangta.
