BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Showcases Her True Work Ethic After Revealing The Hardships She Suffered During Their 2019 Coachella Performance

She also opened up about the hardships of performing!

When BLACKPINK first debuted in 2016, the members instantly caught the attention of netizens worldwide for their amazing talent, dazzling visuals, and unrivaled charisma. In particular, it seems like all of the members were born to be idols, and the same can be said for the oldest member Jisoo.

In particular, whenever Jisoo gets on stage and performs, it seems like she was always meant to be there as she always steals the stage with her outstanding vocals and stage presence.

After BLACKPINK made history as only the third girl group to ever be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, Jisoo was the final member to have her individual editorial. As expected, not only did Jisoo shine with her visuals but gained praise for her honesty.

In particular, it was explained that Jisoo’s path seemed destined for BLACKPINK, but the idol revealed it was far from the case. In particular, she was very honest about how much she loves being an idol but that sometimes being in the spotlight could be tough.

I think about this every day. What do I exactly like? Sometimes I think it’s a mystery. I love to perform, but I don’t always enjoy being part of the spotlight.

Jisoo then added that it was very different for the other members who thrive more in the spotlight and then feel a sense of emptiness when it finished. Whereas it’s a very different story for Jisoo and the idol was very honest about it.

When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing still feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.

However, despite this feeling, nobody can ever say that Jisoo is someone who doesn’t want to be an idol. Ever since she became a trainee and eventually debuted, Jisoo has put all of her efforts into everything she does.

In particular, Jisoo recalled a moment from their appearance at Coachella that proved it. The performance was flawless. Yet, behind the scenes, it was a completely different story as Jisoo revealed that she was injured during the performance.

When we were performing at Coachella [in 2019], my back hurt so badly. Every night I was getting painkillers.

Yet, the outcome of the performance showcased Jisoo’s personality and her amazing work ethic. Despite everything, Jisoo’s dedication and love for music meant that she didn’t want to let BLINKs down.

I wanted to perform sitting down. But my pride wouldn’t allow myself to sit. And it wasn’t because ‘I love this stage so much’; stronger was my sense of responsibility and duty.

Even though times might be tough and Jisoo explained that she doesn’t know if she will ever be certain that an idol is her true calling or that anything ever will be, she reassures fans that she is BLACKPINK forever. It’s all because of the members and realizing that as hard as it gets, she is never alone.

I can compromise with my reality because I’m part of Blackpink, and I’m not alone. I have the girls in the same boat, and the fans. And that gives me the power and a sense of responsibility.

As expected, Jisoo proves just how important being an idol is to her but also honestly explains, like most netizens, that life can be tough and it is impossible to ever know what you were destined to do. Even when things get tough, Jisoo always does her best for BLINKs, knowing she has their support and that of her members.
