BTS Tops Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs Chart With 3 Songs—MONSTA X, GOT7’s Mark Tuan, Stray Kids, And More Make Debuts

K-Pop rules this chart!

BTS is continuing to top the charts! This week, it’s Billboard‘s weekly Hot Trending Songs chart.

This newly introduced chart is powered by Twitter and sponsored by Capital One, so it “provides a real-time ranking of the most-discussed songs on the platform globally.” It’s a new addition, introduced just in October. Since its launch, K-Pop has dominated the chart, and it’s definitely not going to change anytime soon.

Billboard‘s Hot Trending Songs charts, powered by Twitter and sponsored Capital One, track global music-related trends and conversations in real-time across Twitter, viewable over either the last 24 hours or past seven days. A weekly, 20-position version of the chart, covering activity from Friday through Thursday of each week, posts alongside Billboard‘s other weekly charts on Billboard.com each Tuesday. The charts highlight buzz around new releases, award shows, festival moments, music nostalgia and more. Hot Trending Songs is unique in that it tracks what songs people are talking about, not necessarily what they’re listening to.

For the week of December 4, BTS has claimed three top spots. “Butter” leads at No. 1, a former leader of Billboard Hot 100. This is its fifth week reigning as 4.5 million users mentioned it on Twitter from November 19 to November 25.

Recently, the song also earned the group “Favorite Pop Song” award at the 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs) and a nomination for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

Additionally, their collaboration single with British rock band Coldplay “My Universe” has earned the No. 2 on the Hot Trending Songs chart. It went up 114% in mentions with 1.5 million. This is likely due to their performance at the 2021 AMAs.

BTS rules the chart as their other recent single, “Permission to Dance,” takes the No. 5 position on the chart. This is another former Hot 100 No. 1!

Again, K-Pop totally dominates this chart, and since it’s relatively new, many K-Pop acts made their debuts this week on the chart. MONSTA X‘s “Rush Hour” debuted at No. 9, making the top 10. This is their title track from the new EP No Limit, which was released on November 19.

Stray Kids‘ holiday single “Christmas EveL” entered at No. 15. The EP of the same name was just released on November 29!

Ahgases, GOT7‘s Mark Tuan charted at No. 16 with his solo song “Last Breath!” It was released on November 12.

Jungkook‘s cover of Harry Styles‘ “Falling” debuted at No. 20 despite being released in October. Recently, Stylers and ARMY brought it back after he, Jimin, V, and J-Hope attended Styles’ L.A. concert.

TWICE‘s “Scientist” remains on the chart, ranking at No. 10. The award-winning song is from their Formula of Love: O+T=<3 album.

Jin’s Jirisan OST “Yours” remains on the chart, as does BTS’s “Dynamite” and “Boy With Luv.” Other honorable K-Pop mentions include BLACKPINK Lisa‘s “Lalisa” and “Money” at No. 13 and No. 14, respectively. Finally, NCT 127‘s “Favorite” is ranked at No. 19.
