“Boy With Luv” Becomes BTS’s 2nd MV To Hit 1 Billion Views

It also broke a record!

“Boy With Luv” has been a massive hit since it came out last year, and now the song has reached new heights!

On October 24 around 11:15PM KST, the BTS music video officially reached an incredible 1 billion views on YouTube!

It becomes the K-Pop boy group’s second music video to reach this milestone, after “DNA” hit the 1 billion mark in June earlier this year.

“Boy With Luv” was released on April 12, 2019, meaning it took about a year, six months, and 12 days for it to reach this achievement. This means it’s now the fastest K-Pop boy group music video to reach 1 billion views, and the 4th fastest K-Pop MV ever to reach it!

There are only 5 other K-Pop MVs to have reached this amount of views. “Gangnam Style” by PSY is still the fastest at 5 months and 5 days; BLACKPINK‘s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” comes next with a time of 1 year, 4 months, and 27 days; they also take third place with “Kill This Love” reaching 1 billion views in 1 year, 4 months, and 28 days.

“DNA” is in fifth place with 2 years, 8 months, and 13 days; PSY’s “Gentleman” is in sixth with 3 years, 6 months, and 15 days; and finally, BLACKPINK’s “BOOMBAYAH” just recently became the first K-Pop debut MV to hit 1 billion views after 4 years, 2 months, and 4 days.
