HYBE Japan New Boy Group Members Appear In ENHYPEN’s “Drunk-Dazed” MV

HYBE Labels Universe? 👀

ENHYPEN have finally made their long-awaited comeback with their new mini-album, Border: Carnival, featuring the title track “Drunk-Dazed”! Alongside showing off the ENHYPEN members in all their talented and handsome glory, the music video for “Drunk-Dazed” also featured a special cameo from HYBE Labels Japan‘s new boy group members.

ENHYPEN has been rocking the vampire concept since debut, and they carried on the supernatural theme in the “Drunk-Dazed” music video. Set at an eerie party, “Drunk-Dazed” sees the members falling into a daze after drinking a red liquid that looks suspiciously like blood.

However, the music video didn’t just feature vampiric themes. Two werewolves also made an appearance, and they were played by members of the upcoming boy group from HYBE Labels Japan (formerly known as Big Hit Japan): K and EJ.

Even if you don’t know much about this pre-debut boy group, you may already recognize K and EJ from Mnet‘s I-LAND—the survival show that created ENHYPEN in the first place. Japanese contestant K was a fan favorite for the final lineup, making it into the final 12 before he was sadly eliminated in episode 12.

EJ, on the other hand, was a Korean contestant signed to Big Hit Entertainment at the time. He eliminated in episode 7, just a few weeks before the final lineup was decided. Luckily, however, I-LAND wasn’t the end of the journey for these two stars.

In January this year, HYBE Labels Japan confirmed that it would be debuted a new boy group featuring former I-LAND contestants alongside trainees who are yet to be revealed to the public. Taiwanese I-LAND contestant Nicholas, Korean contestant Kyungmin, and Japanese contestant Taki will all be joining them as part of the new group.

In the “Drunk-Dazed” music video, K and EJ can be seen tracking Sunoo, reflecting well-known fantasy lore.

In mythology, werewolves and vampires are known to be mortal enemies.

Given the links, fans are wondering if this cameo could hint at the new HYBE Labels Japan boy group’s concept—or indicate that HYBE Labels groups may be building a shared universe together.

The latter theory is supported by another easter egg in “Drunk-Dazed”—the notebook seen here…

Plus, many believe the girl seen in “Drunk-Dazed” could represent GFRIEND‘s storyline and concept.

The list of groups signed to HYBE’s various labels includes ENHYPEN, TXT, BTS, GFRIEND, and SEVENTEEN with more to come, so it’s no surprise fans are itching for an official cinematic or conceptual universe project between them all.
