She shares how grateful she was for his monitoring.

In light of her series’ successful ending, Hyeri sat down for an interview with SPOTV News to talk about her time filming for the K-Drama. The idol-turned-actress began by discussing the first impression she had when she “met” her character, Lee Dam.

I remember the first time I met Lee Dam. My heart fluttered. I remember thinking that I wanted the viewers to experience the same feeling that I had.

The My Roommate Is A Gumiho star then shared the reason why she chose to accept the role as Lee Dam.

Dam-i has a clear and straight forward personality. She’s honest, but she doesn’t like being a burden to others. She is similar, yet different from how I am. That’s why I really wanted to participate.

The former girl group member confessed that while she has been successfully acting for awhile now, this romantic comedy proved to be a challenge for her.

I haven’t had many opportunities (to act in a romantic comedy.) That’s why I wanted to do an even better job. However, as I started filming, I realized it was more difficult than I thought it would be.

I didn’t know how to make the viewers’ hearts flutter in a fun way. That was my biggest concern.

As a romantic comedy, My Roommate Is A Gumiho had a lot of buzz-worthy, butterfly-inducing scenes. With that said, Hyeri has been in a relationship with her actor boyfriend Ryu Jun Yeol since 2017. SPOTV News asked about how he felt about Hyeri’s recent romantic comedy challenge, to which Hyeri had the cutest response.

He never skipped an episode and monitored every single one. I am forever grateful.

While Hyeri’s time in My Roommate Is A Gumiho may be over, the actress was confirmed as the female lead in KBS2‘s upcoming series, When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon. The K-Drama will be released sometime in the latter half of 2021 so be on the lookout for that!
