In particular, one show that has thrived in recent months is Inkigayo which airs every Sunday morning. Although the idols always shine, the show has also consistently gone viral for its amazing camera shots.

While other shows tend to use a steady camera to create clean motions, Inkigayo has become known for its unique and creative shots.

In particular, they shared how they decide what to focus on when shooting the idols. One of the cameramen explained that there is a difference in focus when it comes to female and male idols.

Taking the example of Red Velvet, they explained that when it comes to female idols, the focus of the camera is to ensure that each of the members’ expressions and lines when dancing are emphasized.

He shared that it’s one of the reasons for the close-ups of the members as he wants to showcase the idols in the best way, including their talent in not only singing but having a stage presence and boasting visuals.

When it came to male idols, the cameraman explained that the focus of the performance is more centred on power. He then added that compared to female idols, it is the desire to showcase the group dance coolly that is the focus.

He then explained the priorities when it came to filming groups with a lot of members, and they used TREASURE as an example as the group has 12 unique and talented members.

Although it might seem easy to focus on those at the center of the song, the cameraman explains how important it is that all of the members get their own shots throughout. He then joked that it was done so that parents don’t ask, “Where did my child go.”

It might seem like idols are the force to make music shows succeed but, without the cameramen and stafff, the show wouldn’t be able to take place. In particular, the cameramen have elevated Inkigayo to a new level, ensuring that it stands out amongst the other shows.
