Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong has been confirmed to enlist in the military early next week, with requests that he enters quietly without the media present.
On May 7th, Kim Hyun Joong’s official website was updated with the notice reading, “Coming on May 12th, Kim Hyun Joong will be enlisting in the army,” and goes further to note that he would like to enlist quietly with his family by his side, and as well not to intrude on other male citizens enlisting that day.
The notice further goes to warn fans that because the artist is enlisting, official schedules such as tours and the likes are hereby cancelled and anything announced otherwise by third-parties are illegal.
His agency adds, “Kim Hyun Joong would sincerely like to thank fans for always staying by his side and giving him support,” revealing he will still be supported by his company well after he returns from his military duties.
Born in 1986, Kim Hyun Joong has postponed his military enlistment several times, and though he was granted another postponement in March, has decided enlist.
Since the beginning of the year, he has been constantly been in the news after it was revealed his ex-girlfriend, only known by the name Choi, was pregnant. Since then, she has filed a lawsuit against several netizens and is reported to have also sued Kim Hyun Joong.
