Korean reporter gets attacked on Live broadcast in New York

W-ABC reporter, CeFaan Kim, got attacked during a live broadcast on Friday night while reporting on an attempted rape.

CeFaan was approached by a man in a hockey mask who put his arm around him during his live report. The camera then panned up and when it filmed again it caught the altercation. CeFaan and the man were seen confronting each other and things got violent when the man pushed CeFaan down. The crew members that were there then tried to separate the two from getting into a bigger altercation.

The next day, video of the incident was posted by CeFaan on Twitter, asking for anybody who knows the man to report it to NYPD.

The man, identified as Key Jonta Foster, is a musician that also goes by the name “Majesty Da Rebel“. The NY Post spoke with the man on Sunday, who said he initially just wanted to promote himself and did not intend for things to get violent.

“The reason I did it was because I knew I’d get negative feedback from it. I can always flip that. I saw an opportunity and took the opportunity to promote my video and mixed tape. From the beginning, it was friendly — I put my arm around him, and then he pushed me, grabbed me.”

He even posted about the altercation proudly on his Instagram account.

On Facebook CeFaan posted a status, explaining why he got so heated in the moment. He explains that it’s hard to not get riled up when someone surprise attacks you like that.

A police reporter was filed with the NYPD who is now looking to talk with the man, but Foster says no one has approached him yet. He is, however, willing to talk if the police come knocking on his door. He told the NY Post that he is not scared to deal with the consequences but feels that this is only getting more air time because he is a black man.
