Netflix Announces IU’s “Persona” Will Delay Its Launch In Light Of Sokcho Wildfire

They made an official announcement.

IU‘s new Netflix Original series “Persona” was scheduled to launch today; however, Netflix announced that they will be delaying its launch in respect towards the recent national disaster in Sokcho.

The east-northern area of South Korea was consumed by wildfires as harsh gusts of wind quickly spread the fire all throughout the mountains and cities. 1 death and over 2,000 evacuees have been reported along with numerous injuries and damaged homes.

Netflix announced that they will set a new release date soon as they hope for everyone’s understanding.

“There has been a change in the launching of Netflix Original series, <Persona> starring Lee Ji Eun (IU) as the main lead. It was originally scheduled to release today (April 5).

In light of the national disaster from the wildfire on the east coast, we decided to delay <Persona>’s release date. We will announce the new launch date later on. The Original series <Persona> is a 4 part short film series where 4 directors, Lee Kyung Mi, Lim Pil Sung, Jeon Go Woon, and Kim Jong Kwan, play out different characters with the same actor, Lee Ji Eun (IU).
