Singer Park Hyo Shin Faces Fraud Lawsuit

He reportedly took hundreds of thousands of dollars in monetary advantage and went back on his word.

Singer Park Hyo Shin is facing a lawsuit over fraud regarding his exclusive contract with an agency.

According to Spotv News, the representative of an entertainment agency, A, filed a lawsuit against Park Hyo Shin for fraud with the Seoul District Public Prosecutors’ Office. According to A, Park Hyo Shin took a monetary advantage of approximately 400 million KRW ($345,000 USD) after promising to sign an exclusive contract with A but ended up signing with another company.

A claims to have provided Park Hyo Shin with a 270 million KRW Bentley, 60 million KRW Mercedes Benz for his mother and a 14 million KRW watch. He also lent him tens of millions of won when he said he was in urgent need of money.

After his contract with Jellyfish Entertainment expired in August 2016, however, Park Hyo Shin ended up signing with a new entertainment company called Glove Entertainment rather than with A. A claims that Park Hyo Shin blocked all of his calls and contact when A opposed his decision.

Park Hyo Shin’s agency is currently looking into the situation. Meanwhile, Park Hyo Shin will be holding 6 concerts at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena starting from June 29.
