Song Joong Ki Takes On Filming For New Film Amid His Divorce

Filming is set to begin today.

Actor Song Joong Ki will be returning to the screen for the first time in 3 years as he begins the first filming of Victory.

Song Joong Ki, who has been suffering from his divorce with Song Hye Kyo and allegedly even losing hair as a result of stress, will be changing his focus on the filming of his new drama just 1 week after news of his divorce. Song Joong Ki’s filming is beginning on July 5th (today) and expected to continue throughout the latter half of this year.

 

Victory is Korea’s first science-fiction film set in space that is spending approximately 20 billion KRW ($17 million KRW) in production costs. Song Joong Ki will be playing the role of Tae Ho, the pilot of Victory, alongside fellow cast members including Yoo Hae Jin, Kim Tae Ri and Jin Seon Kyu. They officially began filming on July 3rd with the aim to premiere the film in 2020.

 

Victory will be Song Joong Ki’s first film since The Battleship Island in 2017. He will be reunited with Director Cho Sung Hee for the first time in 7 years since the popular film, A Werewolf Boy.

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo is also scheduled to appear on her first public outing since the news of the divorce for a cosmetics event and has reportedly arrived in China to attend.
