Chinese Netizens Enraged At “YG FSO” For Racism And Controversial Depiction

Yang Hyun Suk responded to the criticisms.

YG Entertainment‘s latest Netflix comedy series titled YG Future Strategy Office (YG FSO) is being heavily criticized by Chinese netizens for their inappropriate portrayal of China and its people.

The show depicted a fictional image of Jinu taking over the hip-hop genre in China. They used an image of the Chinese flag in the shape of the country, but the shape was missing the South Eastern part of the country.

The show also featured two characters dressed in historical Chinese clothing as they claimed, “I’m a pig.

The Chinese media deemed the scenes are “blatant ridicule” as Chinese netizens began demanding that YG Entertainment apologize and cancel the show.

  • “Come to China to personally apologize.”
  • “Apologize to China”
  • “I’m a YG fan but this makes me so angry.”
  • “If you don’t want to give up promoting in China, you better say something.”
  • “You’re going to pull this sh*t while making money in China?”
  • “Don’t bring YG artists to China.”

After receiving an overwhelming amount of criticism about the show, Yang Hyun Suk took to his Instagram to apologize to its Chinese viewers and vowed take action against the controversial misconceptions.

“I’d like to apologize to the Chinese fans.

I have directed the staff to quickly correct, edit, and/or delete the wrong information.

We will be more cautious in the future and be strictly careful.”
