Talented idol, Apink‘s Bomi recently sat down with YouTube channel HeyNews to film one of their series of videos where popular K-Pop idols meet with their fans’ parents.
In this particular episode, Bomi met with a mother whose daughter had been her fan for nine years.
As Bomi talked with her fan’s mother, Bomi was surprised by the extent that the fan would go to to be able to see Apink.
For instance, the mother describes how her daughter is saving all her money to be able to “go all-in [for a] concert.”
The mother also described a time her daughter went to a fansign Apink had in Daegu.
The daughter was so invested in seeing Apink leave the fansign that she waited for them from 4 PM to after 9 PM that night, surprising her mother.
But her daughter didn’t mind waiting as she came home happily showing off the pictures she’d taken.
Bomi got understandably emotional at the story, touched by how much her fan cared about simply seeing her.
But Bomi was most surprised by the condition that her fan had to meet in order to be able to attend one of Apink’s concerts.
As the mother read her daughter’s letter, she felt embarrassed by the statement that in order for her daughter to be able to attend the concert, her daughter had to meet a condition she made.
“She’d let me go if I became the school president, so I even made a promise in front of my friends even though I’m such a timid person.”
The daughter was elected president of her school, describing it in her letter to be “like a miracle,” and was able to go to the Pink Party concert, which she was extremely excited about.
She even had Bomi take her placard during the concert.
But the mother wanted to make sure Bomi knew just how much her daughter had sacrificed to be able to go to the concert. She explains that while “you might think “she must be [an] active person to become a school president…'”
“… She’s a type of person who can’t say a word.”
Despite how introverted her daughter is, to be able to attend Apink’s concert, she didn’t even simply try to become class president, she tried and succeeded at becoming the president of the whole school.
Bomi was, of course, incredibly moved by the lengths her fan would go to to see her perform.
But Bomi also shared that she also used to be an introvert, so she could understand how her fan felt.
But because Bomi was able to change and become more comfortable around others, she believes that her fan will too. Especially since her fan already demonstrated that she is capable of pushing past her fears.
