Coldplay’s Chris Martin Gave BTS A Gift, And It’s So Meaningful

It’s no wonder Jin loved the gift so much!

Ahead of their collaboration single release “My Universe,” BTS and British rock band Coldplay met with each other. They even exchanged gifts!

Recently, the groups met while BTS were visiting New York City. There, BTS gave Coldplay modernized hanboks, which have become increasingly popular.

Just a few months before, Chris Martin met the members in South Korea. He gave them Coldplay merchandise, such as hoodies, including custom and signed, which some members immediately wore.

Additionally, he gave them “Love” buttons. These are no ordinary buttons either.

They are part of a global movement. Similar to BTS’s “Love Myself” campaign for UNICEF, the Love Button Global Movement has an international humanitarian mission that is all about promoting love, including for oneself and others. Love Button also supports programs worldwide related to both physical and mental health.

The Love Button Global Movement is a non-profit organization that promotes a culture of love by inspiring our human family to act with loving kindness in our daily lives. Wear the Love Button to show you believe in love and its power to transform our world. Love Button supports educational and humanitarian programs that empower individuals and uplift communities locally and globally.

So, naturally, this is a message that BTS would completely get behind. The king of self-love himself, Jin wore not only one button but multiple on his Coldplay hoodie!

Dr. Habib Sadeghi and his wife Dr. Sherry Sami founded the nonprofit organization in 2013. However, it all began in 1997 when he was diagnosed with cancer as he reflected on the word “love” during this difficult time. Years later, he started wearing a pin that he made just from notebook paper with the word “Love” written to remind himself to choose a lifestyle of love and pay it forward.

As a young medical student newly diagnosed with cancer, terrified and directionless, I poured my heart out to a dear friend one afternoon who said to me, ‘Habib, I don’t know about the God that you believe in, but the God I believe in is a loving God.’ He also said, ‘He who hasn’t loved yet hasn’t known God, for God is love.’.

He believes that the world’s problems come as a result of a lack of love. When there’s more love, there’s more gratitude and peace.

Now that Love Button has grown to an organization and global movement, the button is worn by numerous people worldwide. But just how did it reach this massive scale? It happened when Coldplay performed at the halftime show at Super Bowl 50 in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to an audience of 75,000 people. Not only did the members wear the now-iconic buttons, but they incorporated them in the performance itself.

Our biggest accomplishment, however, came in February when 75,000 people in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA held up colored placards during the halftime show at Super Bowl 50 to reveal the message, Believe in Love, that filled the stands and incorporated the Love Button logo into its multi-color design.

Chris Martin was a big supporter of the Love mission back then, and he is just as much to this day. He truly lives the lifestyle of love and naturally promotes it everywhere he goes.

This was all made possible because of Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay. In fact, Chris believes so strongly in the Love Button mission that he supplied all 75,000 attendees at the game with their own Love Button. Our gratitude for Chris’ act of love on our behalf simply cannot be expressed in words.
