NMIXX’s Sullyoon Opens Up About Not Telling Her Parents About The Struggles She Endures As An Idol

But she does have another way to express her emotions.

NMIXX‘s Sullyoon was the most recent guest on HeyNews‘ series, where idols meet with the parents of some of their biggest fans. Of course, Sullyoon’s fan praised her unreal visuals in the letter her mother read, but Sullyoon teared up when her fan talked about her talents and the difficulties Sullyoon must have endured to debut.

Sullyoon explained that when she first read congratulatory messages on her debut, she got emotional thinking about all she had been through.

There was a message card that I read that [said] ‘You worked hard.’ Oh, I’m getting emotional.

Her fan’s mother admitted that she was surprised to hear about all the difficulties of being an idol.

I thought stars were all flashy and happy…

But Sullyoon quickly explained that she struggled while trying to improve her skills, not thinking that she was accomplishing enough.

I had a lot of hard times while practicing. There was a time when I cried by myself. ‘Why is this all I can do?‘ I think that was the hardest part.

Sullyoon has opened up slightly in the past about her struggles, like when she was sick, and Jinni selflessly helped her get better. And her fan expressed her gratitude for Sullyoon’s hard work despite enduring struggles in her letter.

Worried about Sullyoon, the fan’s mother asked if the idol confides her troubles with her parents, to which Sullyoon admits, “I don’t do it.

Sullyoon admitted that she doesn’t want to confide in her parents since it would just worry them since they don’t see her often.

First of all, I live apart from my parents. So I don’t think I can say it because I think my parents would be really worried.

But to reassure her fan’s mother that she cares for her well-being, Sullyoon explained that she’s gotten into the habit of writing her feelings in a diary.

I keep a diary. I think I get better if I write it down and cry.

Still, her fan’s mother reassures Sullyoon that her parents would probably be happy if she confided in them, and she may benefit if she does open up to them about everything she’s going through. Hopefully things will only get easier for the talented idol.
