Lawyer Sympathizes with Roy Kim and Eddy Kim Claiming They’re Enduring Unfair Circumstances

“Roy Kim and Eddy Kim must feel like it’s unfair to be booked just because they happened to be in the same chatroom as Jung Joon Young.”

In light of Roy Kim and Eddy Kim being booked on charges for spreading pornographic material, many are expressing their sympathy toward the stars for being treated as if their crimes are on the same level as that of Jung Joon Young.

Despite the fact that spreading pornographic material is a crime as well, those sympathizing with Roy Kim and Eddy Kim stress that they must be treated differently from Jung Joon Young, who illegally filmed and shared videos of himself engaging in sexual acts with his lovers.

In particular, a lawyer by the name of Baek Sung Moon recently appeared on CBS’s Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show and shared his opinion on the matter.

He explained, “Jung Joon Young committed an unforgivable sin. He secretly filmed illegal videos without the consent of his lovers and shared them with others, which is severely punishable by law.

He then brought up Roy Kim and Eddy Kim and added, “I don’t know what Roy Kim and Eddy Kim shared exactly, but if they shared a few pornographic materials from the internet as Eddy Kim’s agency said, that can also be punishable if they shared very uncomfortable material to the open public.

But if that’s the case, the punishment is either 1 year or less in jail or a fine of 10 million won (~$9000 USD) or less, meaning it’s not a very severe crime. Lawyer Baek explained, “Since the police normally don’t book people on this charge, Roy Kim and Eddy Kim must feel like it’s unfair to be booked just because they happened to be in the same chatroom as Jung Joon Young.

Lawyer Baek added, “There are times when people are booked for spreading excessive amounts of pornographic material, but I don’t remember anyone being punished for sharing a few of them in a group chatroom.
