SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan Reveals The Time He Felt Competitive Because Of Oh My Girl’s Seunghee

Here’s why he wanted to “win.”

SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan recently sat down for a casual live broadcast where he sang memorable K-Pop songs throughout the years. In the latter half of the broadcast, he played Oh My Girl‘s debut track “Cupid.”

He took a trip down the memory lane as he gushed over the song.

This song didn’t get the attention that it deserved. That’s too bad. Let’s not forget ‘Cupid’ that was overshadowed by ‘Closer.’ In fact, this song is like ‘Adore U’ for Oh My Girl.

Seungkwan also complimented the members themselves, saying that they “did so well, amazingly well.” He singled out one of their main vocalists, Seunghee, for her talent and noted that they both sang the high notes in their respective songs.

Seunghee sang all the adlib parts. I did too.

Though “Cupid” was released in April 2015, their music show performances overlapped as SEVENTEEN debuted around a month later with “Adore U.” Thus, because of Seunghee’s incredible live vocals, Seungkwan felt challenged to do an equally good high note!

It’ll come out [after our performance] so I thought, ‘I want to win!’ I was a bit competitive which she didn’t know at all.

Viewers could see that he succeeded in his task.

In the end, he couldn’t help but praise Seunghee, “She did so well. She’s such a great singer.”
